What this website collects
Nothing. There is no contact form, no account to create, no newsletter, and no advertising or tracking cookies. You can read every page without giving us anything.
Our hosting provider keeps short-term technical records of requests to the site, including the IP address of the device making them. That is used to keep it online and secure, not to identify you. Keeping the site up and protected from abuse is our legitimate interest in holding them, and they are not kept beyond what that needs. The hosting is outside the EU, so those records sit under the standard contractual clauses the European Commission approves for exactly this — ask and we will send you a copy.
The map on this site
Every page on this site shows a Google map of the area we cover, down in the footer, and the How it works page shows a second one. The map is loaded from Google, so Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies when it loads. We have no control over that and we see none of it. Google's own privacy policy covers what it does with it.
When you get in touch
If you ring, text, message us on WhatsApp or send an email, we will have whatever you tell us — usually your name, your number, where you are, and what the vehicle is doing.
That is used for one thing: to give you a price, get to you, and do the job. It is not used for marketing and it is never sold or passed on, other than where the law requires it.
The lawful basis is that the information is needed to quote for work and to carry it out for you.
A WhatsApp message also travels through WhatsApp's own service, which has its own privacy terms.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not turn into a job are not kept any longer than it takes to deal with them.
Where work is carried out, the record of it is kept for six years, because Irish tax law requires business records to be retained for that long.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also object to it being held, or ask for a copy of it.
Ring or email using the details above and it will be dealt with within one month, free of charge.
If you are not happy
Tell us first and we will try to sort it. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, the Irish regulator, at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this page
If how we handle information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
